Description
A one-off granite dining table commissioned and custom made in the 1980s to complement the stonework of a private kitchen.
Constructed entirely from highly figured granite, with sweeping charcoal and black movement through a soft grey and muted pink ground. The expressive patterning is reminiscent of the dramatic stone surfaces found within John Lautner's iconic Sheats-Goldstein Residence in Los Angeles.
A substantial faceted pedestal supports the rectangular top, creating a simple architectural form that allows the extraordinary natural movement of the stone to take focus.
A unique piece with known provenance.
Condition: Excellent, no chips, cracks etc. Stone and base has been honed and sealed.
